when i die i'm alive and when i lose i find - my identity

Photobucket
I feel so disconnected from the world with no internet (even though my online world involves very, very few people that I am actually connected to in any real way, shape or form).
Isn't the real life stuff the stuff that you're meant to find connection in? I thought that was the general traditional view.
To me it all feels useless when it's not shared.
But most of the real people I know wouldn't get what I want to share.
But you get it don't you? If you read blogs and crave beautiful pictures, enjoy wasting hours scanning your favourite editorials and dreaming you could someday create something that makes you feel the same way, figuring out your aesthetic and watching it evolve without you without even realising, seeing a face, a font, a shoe, a colour, a quote, an idea, and having it stuck in your head, saved for a rainy day when you finally put all your bits and pieces together then letting your mind casually stroll through them all, creating a path you didn't even know existed until now. You get it. Right?
Sorry, didn't see that coming...end of poorly written rant.
What I came to say was simply, I'll be back to posting soon.
Dear Telstra, get your ass into gear ASAP. $400 woth of internet from my mobile and I'm starting to not love you...not that I ever did.

Hobogestapo. "A PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTIVE DOCUMENTING NIGHTLIFE, MUSIC, FASHION AND CULTURE..AND IN RECENT TIMES..PRODUCING MORE WEIRD, CONCEPTUAL STUFF". I like their stuff. Like, REALLY like it. And their letter box is outside the shop so I get a gentle reminder each time I walk out the front to check it out.

Time for a slight ramble....

Have I already mentioned that I'm in the process of converting from PC to Mac? If not, well, I am. Everyone says I'll get used to it but am finding file organisation, or lack thereof, leads me to heave a deep heavy sigh at the very thought of sifting through files to make a post. Definately not what I signed up for.

Almost had an anxiety attack the other night trying to sort out my thousands of photos which were duplicated and scattered in various locations...add to the fact that iPhoto now goes into self destruct mode and decides to freez everytime I import any number of files and I am almost officially over it. Any encouraging words to get me through this rough patch will be gladly accepted.

Ok so I've been a little caught up in the real world (or maybe caught up isn't the right phrase...caught up implies that I didn't have control or was unable to get away from it, when its actually quite the opposite, I pretty much threw myself into it) and have been purposely ignoring the e-world for the past 5 days or so. No blogging, browsing, ebaying, facebooking and anything else that you can think of that involves being online.

I needed a bit of time to gather my thoughts without so much distraction and the push and pull I feel when I have all this inspiration just dumped on me everyday (usually in the form of my bloglovin account) that really isn't helping my restless feeling....I wanna go explore, like, now!

In saying that...check out my lastest pile of (real life)reading material. Enough to keep me entertained for the whole month ATLEAST

  • Russh (I'm known to squeal when I see this waiting on the table for me every 2 months..and I'm definately NOT a squealer)
  • New Moon (Twilight fans unite)
  • Dazed&Confused
  • Plastique (my absolute number one favourite magazine, second to my absolute favourite above number one always and forever Russh)
  • The Road Less Travelled (taking bits and pieces of timeless wisdom from this well read classic)
  • Its Not How Good You Are It's How Good You Want to Be (thanks Mum)
  • Canon EOS 450D User Manual (I've got a long way to go...please bear with me as I play and hopefully improve)
  • My diary from my trip to Espana 2 years ago(another non helpful tool in keeping me from eloping to some foreign country)

In other news, chai tea NB: TEA. not this powder or syrup chai latte crap thats everywhere. tea leaves or spices or whatever it actually is brewed toegther with soy milk and maybe a touch of honey is the way chai should be drunk. end of story. not up for discussion. and paninis are my current beverage and meal of choice.

Next up: a post about fashion. Promise!

not so sorry ranga day

Before I get to this editorial (or maybe after my rant I won't even get there but just so you know I thought it was breathtaking and never get tired of looking at it)I would like to talk about redheads - and for those of you who haven't seen Summer Heights High please disregard post title.
At my local deli/cafe/cute cool little hang out I am mesmerized by this girl who recently dyed her hair a stunning orangey coppery reddish colour...but no one around me seems to get it. Why??
A friend of mine was blessed with stunning hair, and not just colour (which is actually quite similar to the model above) but that thick, heavy, smooth, does-whatever-she-wants-it-do type hair, yet is constantly sitting in salon chairs covering up any sign or shade of red/orange that is coming through meanwhile I'm tring to figure out if I'm ready to go there and take on such a colour. And I think I am.
Being a hairjob virgin (wash cut blowdry has been as far as I've taken it)it's a pretty big deal round here and if it's gonna be done it's gotta be done right.
Am thinking will talk to one of my hairdresser friends, do a colour evaluation and all that jazz to mkae sure I'm not gonna end up looking like an oompa loompawait that's more appilcable for fake tans but the colour orange is on my mind and I'm watching my green cashmere covered arms type in front of me then make an informed decision. Gosh I'm so sensible. It's friggen hair!!!
