Reconsider

Ideas for a destination wedding had pushed to the wayside until this. No words. 

The most beautiful bride I think I've ever seen...they call her Pineapple Princess. Reconvinced on a veil and perhaps even a white bikini as appropriate for my proposed beachside soiree?

Vogue for breakfast

What a morning we had shooting this strawberry basil breakfast delight for Talisas Vogue Spy Style blog.  She is the doll of all dolls. Glowing skin, dark doey eyes, delicate all over, honestly flawless taste, endearingly clumsy with a knife and an apartment that has better light than some of Sydneys best daylight studios. Expect more of this.

Ps. Wishing to look that good in an all black lady suit is perfectly ok. I've been doing it ever since she first slipped it on. Pants, jacket and shirt all by Vanishing Elephant. 

When Life Was Exotic

The satisfaction my eyes feel when everything that makes up a picture locks in and settles just right, perfectly even.

It was VOGUE, so of course it was the best. Derek Henderson (my long time photo love) behind the lens, Victoria Baron making face, Christine Centenera dressing, Alan White...hair whispering. Mulberry, Cartier, Tiffany.
Name(drop) aside, what I witnessed on this day was hard work in it's purest joy bringing form. The type of work where people are doing exactly what they should be, what they were destined to be. From the moment we arrived mid-morning with sun streaming through the closed doors of the Enmore Theatre the quick and quiet pace was set for the tight schedule ahead whilst an effort was made to maintain an air of luxurious calm. So Vogue.
With Emma in the hair & makeup chair for a typical two hours, I found plenty of time for a scout around the empty theatre, lots of camera talk with a befriended fellow one-man entourage, a quick chat with Mr Henderson (as he was crunching on an apple), and perhaps a cup of tea or two to pass that last little 'almost done' bit. The actual taking photo part was an apparent breeze as we even had time for a sweet serenade. As she sat in that booth twiddling the pencil in hand and singing whatever jazzy number it was that had sprung to mind, the whole crew came to a standstill.
Unforgettable.

BELLA

This whole editorial is really my kind of pretty. The kind where you can wear figure hugging floral lace, add a simple stained lip, accesorise with a garland of flowers & cowboy boots and still be comfortable running amuck a dusty farm or laying across a wheelbarrow (with a few not so dusty farmers).
I spotted it 10 paces away when I arrived at work one morning last week and hurried my step to get a closer look at the (subscribers) cover. Borderline obsessed with the shot, so thought it most effective to not dilute with a repost of the whole story...but please do yourself a favour and go pick up an issue to have a look. Print must live on!

Vogue China editorials always come up trumps for me. On the whole I find everything a little less glossy than what has come to be Vogue standards and that's exactly how I like it. Still swoon over this shoot I posted way back when.

I'm the shittest person at being consistent at pretty much anything (hey, future employers investigating my social media presence)...
but a lot is changing at the moment.
My lack of posts will be compensated for shortly :)




Meanwhile, I am mesmerized by this face (belonging to Ranya Mordanova) and the scene in which it has been captured.
I feel this deserves a movie or at least a short film.
