More to post soon...not these ones particulary but I find the style of her group compositions are reminincent of these KT Auleta shots...but in a more hazy, dreamy, soft focus sort of way.

When I have my own place I'm going to hang chandeliers in the bathroom.

My new fur. Sorry haters but I'm not gonna justify myself...its vintage and its seriously divine. It appears that a claw is attacking my mouth, bizarre.

I literally ran across the shop to pick up (and go on to stroke, clutch and hold) these boots up with such haste that I could feel the shop assistants in Zomp keeping a particularly close, not to mention suspicious, eye on me for the rest of my time in store.
I fell hard and fast. Finally I had found what I was looking for...just the right chunkiness, leather, buckle, toe, height, slouch, structure and any other feature (or lack of) I wanted, it had. A quick flip over for a price check and it all came crashing down. Even the day after pay day finances don't allow for unplanned $895 splurges at this point in time.
I have come to learn that Fiorentini + Baker has quite the following (perhaps not so much in Australia but if they're ever looking for an ambassdor I'll sign myself up) and am now keeping a close watch on its movements.

Jewellery designer Matina Amanitas' site really is quite precious...I haven't been so fascinated by a web design for some time (although slightly larger graphics and images wouldn't hurt). I adore the concepts that goes behind every collection, and the fact that they are created as collections rather than individual pieces. The idea of building up something over time is so much more fun than a one off purchase being the end of the road don't you think?

Was very pleased to see that there are a few Sydney stockists and will be checking out at soonest possible date.

Ok so I've been a little caught up in the real world (or maybe caught up isn't the right phrase...caught up implies that I didn't have control or was unable to get away from it, when its actually quite the opposite, I pretty much threw myself into it) and have been purposely ignoring the e-world for the past 5 days or so. No blogging, browsing, ebaying, facebooking and anything else that you can think of that involves being online.

I needed a bit of time to gather my thoughts without so much distraction and the push and pull I feel when I have all this inspiration just dumped on me everyday (usually in the form of my bloglovin account) that really isn't helping my restless feeling....I wanna go explore, like, now!

In saying that...check out my lastest pile of (real life)reading material. Enough to keep me entertained for the whole month ATLEAST

  • Russh (I'm known to squeal when I see this waiting on the table for me every 2 months..and I'm definately NOT a squealer)
  • New Moon (Twilight fans unite)
  • Dazed&Confused
  • Plastique (my absolute number one favourite magazine, second to my absolute favourite above number one always and forever Russh)
  • The Road Less Travelled (taking bits and pieces of timeless wisdom from this well read classic)
  • Its Not How Good You Are It's How Good You Want to Be (thanks Mum)
  • Canon EOS 450D User Manual (I've got a long way to go...please bear with me as I play and hopefully improve)
  • My diary from my trip to Espana 2 years ago(another non helpful tool in keeping me from eloping to some foreign country)

In other news, chai tea NB: TEA. not this powder or syrup chai latte crap thats everywhere. tea leaves or spices or whatever it actually is brewed toegther with soy milk and maybe a touch of honey is the way chai should be drunk. end of story. not up for discussion. and paninis are my current beverage and meal of choice.

Next up: a post about fashion. Promise!

Absolut cocktails, hotel rooftop, Bondi Beach, sun streaming down, dancing on tables, dancing on fences, dancing with the someone from the ghetto, dancing in the boys toilets, getting kicked out of the boys toilets, beautiful sunset, dancing the dark in, making new friends, playing with old friends.

Speaking of friends, winter you are officially not my friend. I hate how cold you are and how lonely you make me feel when you're around.

Looking at all Northern hemipshere bloggers summer posts I couldnt help but feel a little envious and had to do one of my own.

It's Friday!!!!!!

"What is the best way to show someone you love them? To let go. And the worst? To possess." Heidi Slimane, LOVE Issue One

I see similarities in these couples, the extreme vulnerability that comes with young love, yet somehow the first pair seem to maintain their child like innocence whilst the other captures some sort of dark complexity involved in the relationship. I can't decide which one I relate to more

In saying that, these pics could be taken of 2 randoms that Heidi Slimane picked up at a park and posed together....but thats what I find so intriguing about his photos - they flick my brain art switch into overdrive (brain art is what I call the lavish and extravagent role plays, life stories, make believe conversations etc that I come up with and usually happens when I really don't have time for it to happen but is fun all the same) and before you know it I am somehow entangled in the story and feelings of the photo knowing its full history yet actually knowing nothing at all.

P.S. Feel as though I can put my words together properly tonight. Blahhh. Apologies.

to be

Scrolling through my 'shopping list' folder (yes I have a folder dedicated to pictures of items I plan or at least aspire and desire to purchase) to check out what my budget won't allow me to afford this fortnight, I noticed myself going back for second third and fourth glimpses of the following bundle of suede and rubber joy.

Photobucket

I was doing a showing a few weeks ago and a stylist came in wearing them in black (she owns both colours). After oggling for a few minutes I just couldn't help myself and had to ask her where they were from. I was happy with the response - no foreign cities, no big designer ($) names - and was sure they could be made mine. Not long after my search started did it end as it seemed they had sold out everywhere. The end.

OR NOT!!!!! Tonight I decided a quick google search of "siobahn sambag" couldn't hurt anyone. Top result was the online stockist I had originally looked on who had sold out. Call it magic or fate or luck or whatever else you want (I'm gonna go with magic for this one) and every size has those big ugly capital SOLD OUT letters next to them except for 39. Oh joy!

NB: Find the phrase "what my budget won't allow me to afford this fortnight" and replace with "items that are essential so special considerations can be made".

still

The movie ended, the credits rolled, I let them finish and then pressed play - again. Twice in one night, thats how my love affair started.
I can't figure out how or why I am so obsessed with this movie but I am...even just thinking about it gives me the sudden need and urge to watch or more like be a part of it.

Occasionaly I get this feeling where I'm a little unsettled in my skin. It is not in a melancholy way because I do live a truly blessed and full life.

Maybe it's just impatience because I know where I want to go and can get frustrated that it's taking too long? Maybe it's because I'm scared I'm not doing enough to get me there?

All normal thoughts...right?!

Have had a massive dose of inspiration tonight, lots of page flicking, web scrolling and mind wandering...will aim to share at least one thing each day this week. Short term realistic achievable goals are good for the soul (when they are achieved!)

Before I get to this editorial (or maybe after my rant I won't even get there but just so you know I thought it was breathtaking and never get tired of looking at it)I would like to talk about redheads - and for those of you who haven't seen Summer Heights High please disregard post title.
At my local deli/cafe/cute cool little hang out I am mesmerized by this girl who recently dyed her hair a stunning orangey coppery reddish colour...but no one around me seems to get it. Why??
A friend of mine was blessed with stunning hair, and not just colour (which is actually quite similar to the model above) but that thick, heavy, smooth, does-whatever-she-wants-it-do type hair, yet is constantly sitting in salon chairs covering up any sign or shade of red/orange that is coming through meanwhile I'm tring to figure out if I'm ready to go there and take on such a colour. And I think I am.
Being a hairjob virgin (wash cut blowdry has been as far as I've taken it)it's a pretty big deal round here and if it's gonna be done it's gotta be done right.
Am thinking will talk to one of my hairdresser friends, do a colour evaluation and all that jazz to mkae sure I'm not gonna end up looking like an oompa loompawait that's more appilcable for fake tans but the colour orange is on my mind and I'm watching my green cashmere covered arms type in front of me then make an informed decision. Gosh I'm so sensible. It's friggen hair!!!

So much to say (mainly about model antics) so little time (and effort right now) but shows are funfunfun...juggling dressing with super tight changes and trying to get decent backstage shots don't really lend themselves to success but I did manage a few ok ones.

How can SO many people get it SO right all in the one night AND in all white (plus perhaps a dash of cream and small dose of denim)??
All for Visionaire's Solar issue in colab with CK...which by the way I am very curious to see in the flesh. no (bad)pun intended

This has given me a whole new wave of weekend outfit inspiration involving my white cheap mondays. mmmmmmmmmmexciting
